100% New Zealand Beef

I have a new crush.

He is a 6ft 1", 17 and a half stone hunk of pure New Zealand beef.

And I think he is gorgeous.

Allow me to introduce you to Dylan Hartley, Northampton Saints rugby star.

Dylan and his Northampton side are playing my team, Leeds Carnegie, this weekend.  Needless to say, I am VERY excited at the prospect of watching him trotting up and down the pitch in a pair of thigh hugging shorts.

But here's the thing.  Is he good looking?

I ask the question for a couple of reasons.

Firstly, I told a couple of my friends that I had a bit of a soft spot - OK, a raging wide-on - for Dylan and they laughed in my face.  You see, when he plays, Dylan looks a bit more like this:

Hmm, not quite as hot.

Secondly, I need to know if my man-radar is a bit iffy.  You see, I'm thinking of dipping my toe into the dreaded internet dating pool, and I need to make sure I'm not going to inadvertantly stumble into Minger Alley.

Oh and one last thing.  Dylan is only 24.  I am a bit older than that.  Does this make me a Cougar in Training?

Agh.

Whatever.  I'm going to Headingley Stadium nice and early on Saturday to watch him warming up.  And maybe do a spot of gentle flirting with him.  If I'm lucky... ;-)

  2. Brand new reader here... I like me some tall skinny arty boys myself.. so to me, this man is the total opposite of what I go for, but hey... it takes all kinds! One of my best girl friends has taste like yours in men (well, I say this after only seeing these photos, she would looooove him) and we love it.. we always laugh about how we will NEVER compete for the affections of the same guy.
*Off to read more of your blog now.*

  3. The age is fine (but of course I would say that!). Although I have to agree with your friends in terms of his looks...x

  4. The hottness that has to grow on you a little is always so much better than the instant hottness. Go!

  5. I think he is pretty hot and that smile in the 3rd pic is melting my face right now- so i don't think your man-dar is off!

  6. Can I say he has a nice smile? But man, those thighs surely make up for any imperfections in the game face! I too go more for Clark Kent than Superman but that means you get him all to yourself ;)

    p.s. 'Minger Valley' BRILLIANT!

  7. It's interesting reading about everyone's different preferences!

Ah, well at least I'm not on my own in thinking that Dylan's rather nice. I wonder if he has a girlfriend....? ;-)

Oh and thanks Kitty for your reassurance on the age thing too! hehe x

  8. No one is attractive when they're in the midst of athletic competition.

    Except maybe David Beckham.

I think he's gorgeous. And there's nothing wrong with a bit of cradle robbing ;-P

  9. As a male reader, I want to see fewer hunky men and more stories about you getting off with blokes at parties. That said, he is quite a looker, isn't he?

  10. I think younger is the new older all my friends have toy boys and they are loving it! Unfortunately having 2 children seems to send the younger models running in my case but I say go for it! You can never tell with pictures either some people look totally awesome in pics and aren't all that in real life and the other people look like complete mingers and are actually potentially erotic models! I belong to the latter category, some guy on internet dating said so! (Not the minger part just the erotic model bit!) Good Luck!

  11. Another cougar in training??!!! I finally found you!!! ;)

What is good looking? What I think is good looking, you may not. And we are attracted to people for lots of different reasons (great ass, nice eyes, bulky biceps). Don't let your friends drive you off course.

  12. Update: I am GUTTED! I've just seen the team sheets for the game tomorrow and Dylan isn't playing. BOO! I know he had a dead leg last week, but word on the message boards was that he would be OK. I think he is being rested for the Heineken Cup game next weekend....

Ah well, you never know, as he's captain of the side he might still travel with the team. Here's hoping!

Snafu: Is it not bad to be a Cougar in training?! Haha of course not. Practice makes perfect after all...

Fishy: Your comments are duly noted. Less hot men, more inappropriate snogging. I think I can do that.

Kate: Thank you for stopping by to read my blog! I hope you like it and that you'll venture back!

Jenny DB: What is illegal?! Do you mean it's a crime because he's so lush?

Jo: I love how your friends have all bagged themselves a toy-boy. Not sure I like the idea of being a Sugar Mummy though!

LifeBegins - Stumbling into Minger Alley is something I definitely don't want to do!

Guilty of Gossip and Katherine - You both have excellent taste in men!

Jeney Peney: Ah good old Becks. Such a shame that he's out of the World Cup as he's one of the nicest men in football. He's also my best every celebrity spot. I saw him years ago (when he was still playing for Manchester United). I was shopping in Manchester with my Mum in Kendals (an up market department store). As we were standing on the escalator my mum nudged me and when I looked at the guy in front of us I realised it was David Beckham. He knew he'd been clocked as he gave us a big smile. Such a handsome man. This was before he got married to Posh and became the megastar he is now. Ah, memories!
